We've really been enjoying our summer! Especially swimming, BBQs and beach time! There's a lot of really great FREE concerts and events going on in San Diego this summer and very likely one near you! Here's a few free events and summer concerts in the park that may be near you. Feel free to post any that we've missed in the comments section.
Sunday, July 31st, 9am-4pm, 3rd Annual Doggie Street Festival, Hilton San Diego Bayfront Park, San Diego, FREE.
Thursdays-Sun, 9pm, The Power of Nightfire, FREE Native American folklore special effects show at Viejas Outlet.
Through Sept 4th, 2-4pm, FREE, La Jolla Concerts by the Sea, La Jolla.
July 30th, Movie, "Despicable Me", FREE, Saturdays in the Park, Grape Park, Escondido. Music and family friendly films all summer.
Sundays, through Sept 11th, 6pm, FREE, Coronado Summer Concert-in-the-Park, Spreckels Park, Coronado.
Sundays, through August 14th, 530-7pm, FREE, Summer Concert Series in Poway at Lake Poway.
Thursdays, through Aug 25th, 6-7:45pm, Concerts at the Cove, Fletcher Cove Park, Solana Beach.
Tuesdays & Wednesdays, through Aug 17th, 930 am, Summer Kids' Movie Series at UltraStar Cinemas, only $5.
And.....this weekend, the Ramona Country Fair opens. Music, farm animals, food and rides, it runs Thursday, July 28th - Sunday, July 31st. You can find the schedule here. If you haven't been to a small town fair this is a great one to check out. Less crowded, better parking, good food, good people, and a real small town fair feel that you won't get at the larger county fairs. Scheduled events can be found here. Also, the Jr Fair runs July 30th-August 7th. 4Hers will be auctioning off animals and recieving ribbons for show.
