Soaring on a Sunday

It's Spring and Easter Time and Springtime Celebrations are upon us. Whether religious, spiritual, or secular, it's a nice time to be outdoors celebrating the season and all the activities that this time of year has to offer. Here are a few that are going on in San Diego! Go out and enjoy!


Wednesday, April 4th at 4pm and 7pm. WOW First Wednesday, Malshock Dance. Free event to see colorful, creative modern dance at the Escondido Center for the Arts. And, on April 29th is Orchestra Nova - "Masterpiece Hits: You Vote, We play" Concert. Dinner and a show tickets are available. Advance tickets required.


Play Days at the Zoohttp://www.sandiegozoo.org/playdays/activities.html. 16 Days of great animal activities for kids and families and the San Diego Zoo. On Easter Sunday, April 8th only there will be a Spring Stroller Decorating Contest from 9am-1230pm. Zoo characters, daily. Easter Bunny Meet and Greet 11am-3pm daily, animal ambassadors 1130 and 1230 pm daily, giraffe feeding noon, Th-Sun, Singing Dog Tune Time 315pm daily, and so much more. Resident Free Tuesday at the Balboa Park Museums, this Tuesday the free museums will be; Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, Centro Cultural de la Raza, San Diego Model Railroad Museum, San Diego Natural History Museum.


Here's some Easter Celebrations and egg hunts coming up:


April 7th, 9am-11am, ages 0-12. Alpine-Lions Tigers & Bears Annual Easter Egg Hunt. 


April 7th, 10am-1pm, all ages. Carlsbad: EGGStravaganza Spring Festival.


April 8th, 10am-1040am 3 egg hunts, and 12pm-1240 pm 3 egg hunts. All Ages. Coronado Easter Brunch and Egg Hunts at the Hotel del Coronado.


April 7th, 11am. Del Mar Easter Egg Hunt. For residents.


April 7th, 10am-1pm. Encinitas Egg Hunt Festival.


April 7th, 10am-1130am and 1130am-1pm, ages 2-6. Encinitas, Spring Party with Bunny Hunt, limited to 50 children, pre-registration required. At the SD Botanic Gardens.


April 7th, 730am. Fallbrook Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt at 1030am.


April 8th, 11am, all ages. Julian Easter Egg Hunt behind Bailey's BBQ – 9 a.m. – Free for all ages – Children under 4 have their own egg hunt area – B.Y.O.B. (bring your own basket)


April 7th, 10am-1030am, ages 3-11. Oceanside Easter Egg Hunt


April 7th, 8am-1pm. Poway Easter Egg Hunt. Poway Community Park.


April 7th, 8am-1010am. Toddlers-5th grade. San Marcos Breakfast & Egg Hunt.  Walnut Grove park.


April 7th, 9am-3pm. Ages 8 and under. Santee Spring Eggstravaganza and egg hunts.


April 7th, 1030am-noon, 3rd grade and under. Solana Beach children's spring festival and egg hunt.


April 7th, 9am-11am, ages 1-12. Temecula Easter Egg Hunt.  Harveston Community Park, Patricia Birdsall Sports Park, and Ronald Reagan Sports Park.


April 8th 12pm. Vista Easter Egg Hunt.
