Soaring on a Sunday

It's nearing the end of summer, but that doesn't mean the end of fun in San Diego! We're really looking forward to all the great Fall activities that come with the cooling weather. Apple Picking, pumpkin picking, hayrides, quiet beach days, cool breezes. Every season has it's own special qualities and we are so fortunate to live within driving range of beaches, mountains, hiking trails, and numerous beautiful parks.

Here's some fun stuff coming up this month. So, get out there and enjoy it!

September 3rd-October 2nd, LA County Fair in Pomona, 2hours north of San Diego.

September 10th & 11th, 10am-5pm, ArtWalk on the Bay, Hilton San Diego Bayfront Park.

September 5th, 82nd Annual Oceanside Labor Day Swim, Oceanside Swim Club presents “the 82nd Annual Oceanside Labor Day Swim”. The event will be held at Oceanside Pier Beach on Monday, September 5th, 2011 from 8:00am-11:00am. The event is FREE for the spectators.

Tuesday, September 6th, San Diego Botanic Garden, Free on the first Tuesday every month. Also, on September 10th, 5pm-10pm, The 12th Annual Gala in the Garden, A Celebration of Nature, Art and James Hubbell.

Resident Free Tuesdays at Balboa Park, this week free is Ruben H Fleet Science Center, Centro Cultural de la Raza, SD Model Railroad Museum, and SD Natural History Museum

Saturday, September 17th, 1-3pm, RSVP required, Family Moon Festival, San Diego Chinese Historical Museum.Join the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum in celebrating the brightest full moon of the year! The Chinese celebrate the Moon or Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋節 on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month by savoring the full moon, the bounty of the harvest, and delicious mooncakes.


Current exhibit, Baron Elders' Tree: The Faces of Our Heritage, Barona Cultural Center and Museum, Lakeside.


September 3-24th, every Saturday Night, Cine en el Parque, Free Family Activities starts at 70m, film starts at dusk.Enjoy a variety of new and classic Mexican films screened outdoors in Grape Day Park. All films are geared towards the entire family and will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles. Grape Day Park, Escondido.

Also at Center for the Arts in Escondido, 9/11 Tenth Anniversary Observance, Special Concert by the Navy Band Southwest at the Concert Hall. Free Event. Concert tickets first come, first serve, RSVP 800-988-4253.

Sunday, September 11th, Antique and Collectible Show, Escondido Conference Center. Free.
